Attendance
Parents and Guardians,
Please please try to make sure your student is coming to school. It is very important that they are here so that we are able to review and practice for our end of year tests. They will have plenty of time to relax and have fun over the summer, please just hold out for a couple more weeks. I cannot teach them or help them improve if they are not here.
Only 10 days left... let's see if we can have perfect attendance!

Mothers Day
I have planned an activity for students to create a memorable gift for the mother in their life. The cost for this is just $1, and is by no means required. If you would like your child to be able to participate, please send a dollar to school with them on Thursday. If you are willing to donate a dollar or two for another student to participate, that would be greatly appreciated. I will cover the remainder of the cost.
A note will be sent home with your student Wednesday with these same instructions. Please sign and return the note as soon as you are able. I apologize that this is a little last minute, but Mother's Day has snuck up on me, despite my early planning of this project.
Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for all you do to support your student!
Funding factory
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your ongoing support of MB Hubbard Elementary and our scholars! We are beginning a fundraiser to supply materials for our STEM Lab. STEM is an approach to learning that combines Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math for students to use critical thinking skills to solve problems. We are asking that you donate used or broken small electronics and ink cartridges. When you would usually just throw these away, please send them in with your student.
We are asking for your used or broken:
- Printer or copier ink cartridges
- Cell phones
- Headphones
- Cameras
- Mp3 players
- Handheld devices
- GPS
These will then be recycled! Thank you in advance for your participation!

Read your heart out!
We have been participating in the month of October in the Read Your Heart out contest with Pizza Hut. Your student has the chance to get a free pizza, every month until March, just from the reading they do every day! Students need to write the minutes they read in their agenda with your signature. They can then track the minutes online through our class tracker. This is a great incentive for reading! Keep reading!

Week of October 8
NO SCHOOL TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9
Homework this week will not be the choice board, as I want to go over last week's homework with them and this is a short week. Also, they will not have a spelling test this week. Next week their list will be the words that they have missed during this 6 weeks, some students may only have 2 or 3 words on their list. The more prepared they have been throughout the marking period. They will have homework this week, just not on their choice boards.
Thanks for all your help and support! Report cards will be sent home Friday!
